Veterinary Center for Birds & Exotics is a specialized exotic vet hospital serving birds and exotic pets in Westchester County, NY, as well as clients from CT, NJ, PA, and beyond. Founded in 2010 by Dr. Laurie Hess, board-certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in avian practice, we are the ONLY full-time, board-certified bird specialist in Westchester County and the ONLY avian-specialty practice in New York to receive the distinguished accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Our team includes Dr. Hess, Dr. Jonah Marion (residency-trained in reptile/amphibian medicine), Dr. Chaya Storch, and Dr. Gabriela Zonenshine. We utilize state-of-the-art technology including digital x-rays, ultrasonography, CT scans, endoscopy, laser, and electrosurgery. We treat birds, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, chinchillas, rats, mice, gerbils, hamsters, degus, reptiles, amphibians, sugar gliders, hedgehogs, mini pigs, wallabies, kinkajous, fennec foxes, opossums, chickens, ducks, and more.

Dr. Hess is absolutely amazing! She is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to thoroughly explain everything. Our parrot has been under her care for years and we trust her completely. The entire staff is professional and caring.

Dr. Marion is a reptile expert! He spent so much time with us going over proper husbandry for our bearded dragon and caught a health issue early. The facility has state-of-the-art equipment and you can tell they really specialize in exotics.

We drove from Connecticut specifically to see Dr. Hess and it was absolutely worth it. She is board-certified in avian medicine and it shows. Our cockatiel received exceptional care. This is THE place for exotic pet care in the tri-state area.
