Long Island Bird & Exotics Veterinary Clinic (LIBEVC) is a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital dedicated entirely to the care of avian and exotic pets. Located in Great Neck on Long Island, we serve clients from Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Unlike traditional veterinary hospitals, we do not see dogs or cats - our entire focus is on exotic animals. Our team includes board-certified veterinarians with over 15 years of experience, led by Dr. Shachar Malka. We offer cutting-edge care including the only in-house CT scan for exotic pets in New York, advanced endoscopy, minimally invasive surgery, and comprehensive medical and dental services. Our newly renovated facilities house specialized equipment for exotic animal surgery and emergency care. Our Green Wing Macaw required emergency care. The entire staff could not have been more supportive and caring. We initially chose LI Bird and Exotics because they were the only Avian Veterinarian available. We now know that they are not just available they are the best place to go!!! We will make the hour trip for all of our birds to see this dedicated, caring and professional team. Thank you for saving our bird's life!!

The staff here are incredible and extremely knowledgeable. My Quaker Raju was diagnosed with heart failure and Dr. Malka called the diagnosis after months of me noticing weird behavior. He was given great medications and had been closely monitored by the staff. Everyone has been extremely patient while I would frantically call and made sure I was put to ease. I will NEVER go anywhere else. Raju is now out of heart failure and running around. I couldn't do this without you guys!!

I am so impressed with Dr. Malka and his staff at Long Island Bird and Exotics Veterinary Clinic and I highly recommend this clinic! I brought my rescued bunny, Duffy, in for his check up, neuter and an infection. The vet techs and Dr. Malka were extremely helpful in educating me about rabbit care and in showing me how to administer Duffy's medication. Everyone was competent, patient, kind, and truly interested in helping my little guy out.
